An attractive handwritten liturgical manuscript leaf on laid rag paper, likely originating from a Catholic antiphonal or choirbook used for the chanting of the Divine Office. The leaf contains Gregorian chant notation on four-line staves with Latin liturgical text written in a Gothic bookhand.

The manuscript includes the rubric “Ad Matutinum” (“For Matins”) and “In festo Paschae” (“For the Feast of Easter”), indicating its use within the Easter liturgy. The text is accompanied by traditional square chant notation and features decorative red and gold initials, adding visual appeal and reflecting its ecclesiastical purpose.

The leaf is written on handmade rag paper rather than parchment, a characteristic commonly encountered in post-medieval liturgical manuscripts. Based upon the script, notation, materials, and an accompanying historical notation identifying the manuscript as dating to 1608, the leaf is attributed to the early seventeenth century. While this attribution appears reasonable, further scholarly study may refine or adjust the dating.
